Denim Shirt Fashion

Just like plaid, Denim Shirts are back in style. For me, this is an extra special cyclical fashion trend because denim shirts were one of my favorite fashion pieces in the 80’s and early 90’s. Denim Shirts and Hoop earrings have been my fashion resurggence wishes and now they have both come true. Denim shirts give an air of western edge, non-nonsense fashion statement and a feminine cut to keep people guessing.

The same rules apply from the early 90’s, don’t pair the denim shirt with the same colored denim jeans, don’t tuck your denim shirt into your pants (leave it hanging) and try to stay away from any accessory that is western or country by definition. You don’t want to end up looking like you just rolled in from the ranch. Your best best for a denim shirt are to keep it tailored (nothing too big or too small), pair them with leggings or skinny jeans, and be daring when you wear the denim on top. Pair your denim shirt with sequins, silk, lace or anything sheer. As I’ve stated before, you want to pair edgy, hardy fabrics with their opposing fabrics. I like to call this the Hard-Soft effect.
