Jean Paul Gaultier is doing his part to make the earth a better place by teaming up with Brazilian shoe company Melissa to create an eco-friendly shoe. The 10 cm stiletto, which will come in black, caramel, tangerine, lime and beige is 100% recyclable and will be hitting shelves in June, just in time for summer!

It’s simple, chic and we can’t forget expensive. The plastic heels will cost around $320. Yikes. No one said being eco-friendly was cheap.

And between this, the French designer’s upcoming Target collection and his collaboration with Pataugas Shoes, our wardrobes are about to get one big designer upgrade.

Buy It: Melissa
Cost: $320+

  1. Slightly off topic perhaps, but a request for people to think about the ethics of purchasing fashionclothing. Do try and consider, for example, the materials the clothes are manufactured from, the human rights of the factories where they’re manufactured and the green credentials of the clothes retailer. Oh, and try to pass on, rather than throwing away. Thanks!!!!

  2. these shoes are like totally cute i will totally buy them oh yeah
