It may be Friday the 13th (scary) but we still have the ability to get lucky today. Sonia Rykiel the famed French fashion designer (who wrote the book A to Z of fashion and was voted one of the world’s 10 most elegant women in 1980) has joined forces with H&M fashion retailer to design a lingerie collection.
Due in stores December 5th, 2009, the Rykiel/H&M lingerie collection will be “a totally modern, new kind of lingerie look” with flower and heart appliqués on the bras and mesh panties; so much for lingerie that disappears under clothes! Though the style makes perfect sense, what with lingerie-as-outerwear being the hottest spring trend. Maybe panty lines will become chic, too.
The collection will be launched in 1,500 H&M stores worldwide and at the same time, Sonia Rykiel will make this lingerie collection available in Sonia Rykiel’s major boutiques around the world – another first for H&M.
